According to some sources, Andy Ruiz Jr has advanced Mexico as his ideal arena for a rematch with Anthony Joshua. The Mexican-American claimed a surprise victory at Madison Square Garden in New York, last week Sunday finishing the British heavyweight star’s title rule with a seventh-round stoppage to guarantee the WBA ‘Super’, WBO and IBF belts.
In the fallout of Ruiz Jr’s staggering triumph, Joshua and promoter, Eddie Hearn, expressed their goal to have a prompt rematch in the UK; however the new champion will prefer the rematch in Mexico, his nation of origin.
On Sunday, Anthony Joshua was dazed by Andy Ruiz in New York in one of the greatest stuns in boxing history.
Joshua was was expected to come home with another victory on his USA debut at Madison Square Garden as he defended his three world heavyweight titles.
However, Joshua couldn’t stand the punching intensity of Ruiz and at last surrendered to a TKO rout.
